All our articles are produced in brass. however, most of them are also available in iron. Moreover, in F. José Montesinos we are able to work with others metals provided by the customer (silver, stainless steel, aluminum...)Advantages of brassBrass is an alloy of copper and zinc. As result of its unique combinations of properties, brass is an extraordinary material for decorative components and final products.Amongst the advantages of using brass, we can find the following ones:
- Excellent corrosive resistance.
- Brass is ease to join to other copper alloys or to orther metals. The most common process to join is by welding, but brass also accepts soldering and brazing.
- Decorative or protective finishing is easily applied: brass may be polished, lacquered, plated with gold, silver, tin, nickel, chromium... It is also optimum for patination an enamelling.
